The original candle began as one of my own hand-drawn designs. I chose the key to represent Hekate’s connection with thresholds, mysteries and the opening of new paths, while the skull reflects transformation, shadow work and her relationship with the unseen. I then transformed the drawing into a physical ritual candle, preparing the herbs and essential oils, hand-rolling them into the wax and carefully moulding and decorating each piece.

The process is intentionally ritualistic. Every candle is made slowly and purposefully, with its spiritual symbolism and intended use considered throughout—not simply decorated after it has been made.

WHY I CALL IT AN “INCENSE CANDLE”

The herbs and essential oils incorporated into the wax release deep, smoky aromas as they burn. This produces an intense, atmospheric experience reminiscent of ritual incense, which is why I refer to these creations as “incense candles.”

Because they are individually rolled, moulded and finished by hand, slight variations in shape, texture, colour and decorative placement are natural. These differences are part of what makes every candle unique.

PLEASE READ—ESSENTIAL FIRE-SAFETY INFORMATION

This ritual candle contains combustible dried herbs and essential oils. It is intentionally designed to produce a higher and more active flame than a standard household candle.

It MUST be burned upright in the centre of a LARGE, deep, heatproof dish that provides generous space around the entire candle and can safely contain the flame, melted wax and burning herbal material.

• Never leave the candle unattended—not even briefly.
• Keep well away from children and pets.
• Keep away from draughts, curtains, fabrics, shelves and other flammable objects.
• Burn only on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface.
• Use in a well-ventilated room.
• Do not move or touch the candle while burning or while the wax remains hot.
• Extinguish immediately if the flame becomes unsafe or extends beyond the heatproof dish.
• Never allow the candle to burn all the way to the base.
